Ali Stumacher

Deputy Director of Education

Alison Stumacher is the Deputy Director of Education at the Alliance for Decision Education and has nearly two decades of experience in the field of education as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, coach supervisor, and new teacher trainer in public, charter, and independent schools in and around Philadelphia.

Before joining the Alliance, Alison served as a Literacy Supervisor at the Children’s Literacy Initiative, working closely with School District of Philadelphia teachers, principals, and district leaders to support their vision for early literacy instruction. She believes deeply in education as a tool for social justice, and the importance of children seeing themselves, their voices, their communities and their stories celebrated and centered in their classrooms.

Alison earned her Ed.M. in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and her B.A. in Sociology from Wesleyan University.

She lives in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, with her husband, Justin (also a teacher!) and their two sons. When not working or parenting, she enjoys finding new trails in the magical NW Philly woods, playing music, and daydreaming about travel.
