The Alliance for Decision Education is a nonprofit organization leading the growing call to have Decision Education taught in schools across the country.
We are grounded in the understanding that better decisions lead to better lives and a better society. Our mission is to improve lives by empowering students with essential skills and dispositions for making better decisions. Instead of hoping students make good decisions, we want to teach them how.
Why this is so important
The decisions we make shape our lives—our outcomes—and those of the people and organizations around us.
There is not a more important set of skills that we can teach today’s youth than how to approach decision-making, including clarifying their values and goals, thinking probabilistically, recognizing and resisting cognitive biases, and taking actions that are consistent with their desired outcomes.
