WHY PARTICIPATE?

Bring decision-making skills to life in your classroom without adding another initiative

Help your students build the skills they need to navigate an uncertain world, without adding to teachers’ plates.

We are currently seeking a select group of public and charter schools to participate in our latest Decision Education Incubator program.

With grant funding from the John Templeton Foundation, participating schools will pilot an innovative approach of integrating decision-making skills directly into existing instruction across ELA, math, science, and social studies.

Rather than introducing something new, this work enhances what teachers already do, making learning more engaging, relevant, and impactful.

Participating schools will collaborate closely with the Alliance team to co-design and implement classroom learning that strengthens student agency, engagement, and real-world application.

WHAT PARTICIPATION LOOKS LIKE

Designed with schools, for real classrooms.

Build a School-Based Team

Schools will identify a small cohort to lead the work:

  • 3–4 classroom educators
  • 1–2 school leaders (administrators, coaches, or curriculum coordinators)
  • A designated point of contact for coordination

Teams may target implementation on a specific grade level, subject area, or span multiple areas and grades.

Co-Design with Us

Work alongside Alliance staff to:

  • Integrate Decision Education into existing lessons and units using The Alliance’s tool, Decision Studio
  • Share feedback and classroom insights
  • Help shape materials that are practical and effective

Bring It to Your Classrooms

  • Pilot co-designed lessons with students
  • Provide feedback to refine and improve materials

Engage in Professional Learning

Participating educators will receive:

  • On-boarding and training in Decision Education and tools
  • Ongoing coaching and support
  • A blend of asynchronous (~5 hours) and live (~6 hours) learning experiences

Share Feedback & Insights

Help us learn what works by contributing:

  • Brief surveys and check-ins
  • Reflections on student engagement and instructional experience

Support Classroom Documentation (Select Classrooms)

Partner with Alliance staff to:

  • Record select pre-scheduled lessons
  • Participate in one or more classroom observation visits
  • All activities will be coordinated with your school for a smooth, teacher-centered experience

WHAT SCHOOLS RECEIVE

Support, resources, and a voice in shaping what comes next.

Participating schools help build practical Decision Education resources while receiving tailored support for implementation.

High-quality instructional materials tailored to your curriculum

Professional learning and coaching for sustained impact

Dedicated support from Alliance staff throughout the pilot

A voice in shaping innovative resources used nationwide

Opportunities for recognition, including case studies and thought leadership

Stronger student outcomes in decision-making, engagement, and real-world readiness

WHAT WE’LL ASK FOR (DATA & FEEDBACK)

We aim to keep data collection focused and useful. All student data will be anonymized or de-identified.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

“I think Decision Education helped me be aware of the choices I make…helped me make a new goal and have a very clear vision on how I want to grow.”
