Sarah McGrew

In today's information environment, students need to be able to make efficient, effective decisions about what to trust in order to find high-quality information that they use to inform their choices and actions.

Sarah McGrew is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership in the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. She studies educational responses to the spread of online misinformation and disinformation. She  focuses on how young people search for and evaluate online information on contentious topics and explores ways schools can better support students in developing effective evaluation strategies and making informed decisions about what to trust online.

Dr. McGrew began her career as a high school history teacher in Washington, DC and holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teacher Education from Stanford University.
