David McRaney

Science Journalist, Author, and Host of the You Are Not So Smart Podcast.

"Something big is bubbling beneath the surface in education right now. It’s the growing recognition that equipping students with decision skills is a critical upstream change that can bring multiple downstream benefits to our communities. To anyone looking for ways to improve thinking and decision-making in the next generation, I say ‘Roll out Decision Education, as quickly and as widely as possible.’ I’m thrilled to be part of the movement."

David McRaney is a science journalist fascinated with brains, minds, and culture. In 2009, he created the blog/podcast You Are Not So Smart to get a better understanding of self delusion and motivated reasoning. It became an internationally bestselling book shortly after, and is now available in 17 languages. On the podcast David interviews scientists who study the psychology of reasoning, decision-making, and judgment. His second book, You Are Now Less Dumb, was released in 2013, and his third book, How Minds Change came out in 2022. He also gives lectures around the world about these topics.
