Larry Connor of The Connor Group Takes His Mission to Space
We want to congratulate Larry Connor, founder and managing partner of The Connor Group, on a safe return from his 17-day, Axiom-1 space mission. Larry piloted the historic flight to the ISS, where he and three other crew members conducted pioneering research in partnership with the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.
I’ve always encouraged others to dream big, aim high, and set impossible goals.
Larry Conner
Founder and managing partner of The Connor Group
Earlier this year, the Alliance received a multi-year seed investment from The Connor Group’s Kids & Community Partners—the nonprofit arm of the real estate development firm that provides financial backing to social and educational impact nonprofits. “We are truly grateful for their generous commitment to help to advance our mission of improving lives by empowering all young people with essential decision skills,” says Joe Sweeney, executive director of the Alliance. For us, that means increasing widespread support for K-12 Decision Education, teaching and learning of skillful judgment formation and decision-making. Capacity-building partnerships drive this work, and we are fortunate to have that through The Connor Group Kids & Community Partners.
“Our organization always has believed in the importance of decision-making; it’s something we stress, discuss and teach,” Larry said. “So we are very well-aligned with the Alliance’s mission and methodologies. But when you take a step back and think of the big-picture possibilities of making children better decision-makers – especially children from under-resourced backgrounds – we think it has the potential to be game-changing.”
Support to the Alliance for Decision Education from The Connor Group Kids & Community Partners will:
- Double the size of the Alliance’s Decision Education Teaching Fellowship
- Facilitate the development of a variety of professional learning experiences for educators
- Help fund capacity building with key hires
